Educational travel
According to the famous essayist Sir Francis Bacon, travel is an education. In the old days, people who went on long journeys would leave their places with a big ceremony, and their friends and relatives also gave them a heartfelt farewell, fearing that they would never return home.
But with advances in science and technology and new ways to travel, hanging out has become a pleasure. Even the government allows many exemptions and grants for educational travel. Railways regularly allow around 50 percent discount on educational tours, historical centers, and important places like dams, power plants, lakes, hill stations, tourist resorts, factories, industrial houses, gardens, museums, science exhibitions, and monuments.
When students drop their surroundings and spend a few days outside with friends and teachers or guides, they automatically become self-reliant on responsibility, punctuality, self-reliance, endurance, and common sense.
From the Kashmir Valley to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to Kalimpong in the east of our country, there are thousands of places known for the fauna of architecture, climate, scenery, culture, industry, history, environment, religion, development, dance, and music. Then there are teaching postures, which one might like to see. Only reading books on science, commerce, arts, medicine, engineering, management, computer science, law, history, and architecture creates a bookworm.
In order to get enlightened citizens for better world order, we should encourage educational excursions in our schools, and colleges and thus develop the personality of young children.
Travel also gives us pleasure. It breaks the lack of interest in life and fills the mind with energy. Furthermore, travel teaches us to endure pain, and it is good training for success in life's struggles.
