His dad was a boatman, who took travelers from Rameswaram to the blessed island of Danushkodi. When a horrendous twister hit the drift and the ocean removed their watercraft. In any case, his dad remained quiet and approached assembling another vessel. In 1964 another twister struck and broke a piece of Danushkodi. His dad loses his vessel again yet assembled another. His dad was not instructed so he needed Kalam to Study. When he was in class VIII, he chose to help the family. He gets up early morning at 4 AM, takes bath, and goes to his Mathematics class after that he got down to business to disperse the paper with his cousin Shamsuddin. He would race to the Railway station to gather the packs of papers that came on the train and appropriate them nearby. He would make a beeline to prepare for school. No power was in Kalam's town so they utilize Kerosene lights in the early morning and night. He was a brilliant understudy so the teachers upheld his examinations. This made Kalam bold.
